You are looking at a 1991 Toyota
Hilux 4x4, solid front axle.
This vehicle is extensively
modified and still road legal. It
would be a great project to take
it to the next level: a super
modified truck.
Features/modifications:
4-litre V8 Lexus engine
conversion. Diktator engine
management system. Dyno
chart shows 200bhp (149 kW) at
the back wheels. It’s a superb
conversion – very tidy. Dual
fans: never overheats. No
engine issues at all since the
conversion in 2009. Manual
gearbox retained.
Spare clutch (still using the
original, fitted at conversion –
no problems)
Custom stainless steel exhaust
system
Full external roll cage, mostly
welded but with some bolted
joints so that it can be removed
from the vehicle if necessary.

The value of the modifications
which have been done since I
bought the vehicle in 2008 come
to over R160,000. The standard
vehicle itself is worth
approximately 45,000 Rand.
Considering the work needing to
be done on the vehicle (see
below) I offer it for sale at the
low price of R 85,000 which is a
total bargain.
Currently the vehicle is not
roadworthy and this is reflected
in the asking price. More details
below. Some work needs to be
done and it would need to be
towed/trailered from its home in
Featherbrooke Estate, near
Krugersdorp on the West Rand.
Issues:
Panel damage on left hand side
and broken left rear passenger
window.
Front drive shaft needs
replacement.
These are routine repairs.
Gearbox repair needed....won't
drive in 2nd and 3rd.
I must sell the vehicle “sold as
seen”.
Rear disc calipers need new
seals.
Electrics on switchable diff lock
need an overhaul. The diff lock
doesn’t engage.
